The eastbound haul dwarfs the last few kilometres
Destinations beyond the city — Kambalda, a station homestead, a camp at the end of a graded track — add to a trip that has already crossed the Wheatbelt. Next comes the truck: a side-loader or crane truck for a boxed-in block runs dearer than a tilt-tray, and a 40ft needs a bigger rig. Mine-site access, escorts or induction can shape the job too. Give a site contact and the site's rules with the order. Never assume a standard truck can pass a mine gate without clearance.

Most of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is flat. Industrial yards, including West Kalgoorlie and Boulder, usually have hardstand and wide gates for a tilt-tray. Fine red dust is manageable when dry; a heavy storm can turn unsealed yards to slippery clay for a while. Older residential blocks can have narrow side access, carports and close fences, so a side-loader or crane may be required. Photos of the gate, the approach and the spot confirm the vehicle. A date that can ride with other eastbound freight is cheaper than a special. A mining start that cannot move should be labelled that way. Older residential side access with carports needs a side-lift or a crane; industrial gates usually take a tip-bed. Photograph the gate and the pad either way.
