Plan for access, not just capacity.

A container full of stock is useful only if you can reach what you need. Leave room for an aisle, shelving, handling equipment and the door swing. If items arrive on pallets, check their dimensions and handling method against the doorway as well as the internal space.

For trades and site storage

Consider which tools need daily access, which items are bulky and who will be responsible for locking up. Tell us whether the unit is going onto an active worksite so delivery can be coordinated with its access arrangements.

For growing inventory

Separate regular stock from occasional items in your plan. Avoid using volume alone to predict the number of boxes that will fit: packaging, shelving, safe handling and aisle space all reduce usable capacity.

For a temporary job

Ask for a hire quote including delivery, collection, hire duration and any applicable fees. Compare the whole term with buying rather than comparing a weekly rate with a purchase figure.

Match the grade to the goods.

Cargo-worthy used containers are checked wind and watertight before release. New single-trip units may suit a customer-facing position or a tidier presentation. As-is units have disclosed faults and are not sold watertight.

What to include in your enquiry

• The largest items or approximate storage load.
• The size you prefer, or ask us to help.
• The delivery suburb and any site restrictions.
• Whether you are buying or hiring, and your timing.
